Champaign Police Investigating Shooting

On Jan. 22, 2020, at approximately 10:43 p.m., Champaign Police responded to the 100 block of Kenwood Road following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 25-year-old female with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to a lower extremity. The victim was transported to an area hospital.

The preliminary investigation indicates there was a dispute between known acquaintances when a gun was discharged, striking the victim.

No arrests have been made at this time. Future updates may be provided as they become available.

Police ask anyone who may have information or who was in the area at the time of the shooting to contact police at 217-351-4545. Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for this crime.
