2019 Fall Yard Waste Collection Totals

The City provides curbside yard waste collection services to City residents.  This year, the fall collection started on October 14, 2019, and gave residents four opportunities to dispose of their materials. This year, crews attached bright green stickers to bags placed too close to an obstacle asking the resident to move the items for their next collection.  This proved to be successful to have residents comply with guidelines so crews could safely collect their materials.

Over the course of this eight-week collection, the Public Works Operations Division collected 184,370 bags of yard waste.  Following are historical collection amounts:

Leaves are disposed of at a local farm.  The farmer transports the bagged leaves from Public Works to the farm to use as livestock bedding.  When soiled, it is used to spread on farmland as fertilizer.
