City Participates in 2019 CU Pride Fest

The City of Champaign was proud to welcome residents and visitors to downtown Champaign for the 2019 CU Pride Fest.  City staff from the Office of Equity, Community and Human Rights (ECHO) celebrated with a table full of colorful treats for the Pride Fest Kickoff on September 27, 2019. This event was held in the Champaign City Building atrium. ECHO staff provided refreshments to Pride Fest attendees.

On September 28, 2019, ECHO staff, in coordination with the City’s Human Relations Commission, hosted an informational booth during Pride Fest in the City parking lot north of One Main Plaza. Human Relations Commissioners and ECHO staff provided information to Pride Fest attendees and handed out fun giveaways, including treats, huggies, and bottled water.

The Mayor, City Council, and City staff also marched in the Pride Fest Parade through the streets of downtown Champaign on September 28.
