The Illinois Department of Transportation announced the following construction projects:

Nighttime Work Over I-57 to Resume June 3.  The work involves crews removing the Bradley Avenue bridge which will require a lane closure with traffic control devices.  Intermittent closures of the other lane will be done using a rolling road block in coordination with the Illinois State Police and will last about 25 minutes at a time.  The work will be done between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. and is expected to last eight nights.

Lane Closures on Interstate 74 begin June 3.  Lane closures on Interstate 74 between Duncan Road and Lindsay Road will begin Monday, June 3.  The closures are necessary so crews can paint the bridges carrying Duncan and Lindsay roads over I-74.  The first work zone will be in the eastbound lanes, which is expected to last three to four weeks.  Work will then switch to the westbound lanes, which also is expected to take about three to four weeks.  One lane will remain open at all times during the work.

Work on Prospect Avenue Bridge over I-74.  Repairs to the bridge that carries Prospect Avenue over Interstate 74 in Champaign begins Monday, June 3.  The project involves making repairs to the bridge and replacing the bridge deck and will begin with placing protective shielding under the bridge and installing temporary signals on Prospect Avenue, which will require both daytime and nighttime lane closures on Prospect and Interstate 74.

Permanent lane closures on Prospect Avenue to allow for structural repairs and replacement of the bridge deck will begin Thursday, June 13.  One lane of traffic in each direction and one turn lane will be open at all times during construction, which is expected to last until November.
