The Champaign Fire Department will be performing fire ground operations training at Champaign Unit 4 School District’s former Dr. Howard Elementary School, 1117 W. Park Ave, Champaign, on September 5, 6, and 7 and again the following week, September 10-14.
Firefighters will have the opportunity to engage in activities commonly used on the fire ground such as forcible entry, hose advancement, and victim searches using mannequins. Firefighters will also be performing ventilation activities on the roof of the structure September 10-14. A smoke machine will be used to simulate fire conditions within the building.
