Police Respond to Shots Fired Call, Seek Public Assistance

Tonight, at approximately 8:31 p.m., Champaign Police Officers responded to the area of Paula Drive and Larkspur Lane after receiving reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, police found a teenage male suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Carle Hospital and is in critical condition.

There are no suspects at this time.

Champaign Police are investigating this incident and actively working to identify the circumstances leading to the shooting. Detectives are requesting to speak with anyone who may have been in the nearby area at the time of the report and/or anyone with information pertaining to the shooting and will arrange to speak privately with you.
