Aging Brick Sidewalk Replaced Near The Esquire

This past summer, the Mayor received a complaint from a citizen regarding the condition of the brick sidewalk along the south side of The Esquire. Over the years, many of the bricks in this immediate area had portions of their surface break away, leaving an array of trip hazards and eyesores. Previous repairs included filling in the surface voids with concrete patches. As the number of failed bricks rose, it was decided to remove the bricks in their entirety and replace the area with a concrete sidewalk. Work was put off until after summer activities downtown had lightened up. Last week, working closely with the staff and patrons of The Esquire, the area was repaired by A&R Services. This area has a high number of pedestrians who are certain to appreciate the improvement.
