Body Camera Video a National Award Finalist

Earlier this year, staff from the Champaign Police Department and City Manager’s Office collaborated to produce a video to educate the public about the rollout of officer-worn body cameras. Shortly after its public debut, the Communications Division entered the video into the City-County Communications & Marketing Association’s (3CMA) 2017 Savvy Awards – a national competition to recognize government efforts to effectively and creatively communicate with the public.  On July 18, 2017, the City was notified the City-produced video Body Cameras: CPD’s New Tool to Protect and Serve is a finalist for a 2017 Savvy award in the Video-Education/Training category.  Which award the video earned (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) will be announced during the 3CMA Annual Conference in September.  This is CGTV’s 15th national award.
