I-74 Centerline Improvement in Champaign County
PARIS – The Illinois Department of Transportation announces centerline improvement work is scheduled through the end of June on Interstate 74 west of the University Avenue exit to west of the Prospect Avenue exit in both directions in Champaign County. This work will be performed between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. at intermittent dates.
Interstate 74 will be reduced to one lane during the project. Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered.
Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, restrain from using mobile devices and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
