Building Safety Division Experiences Another Record Year
The City of Champaign’s Building Safety Division experienced a busy 2016, with over $219 million dollars in construction valuation, the third highest in the City of Champaign’s history. In 2016 Building Safety performed a total of 9,580 inspections and issued 2,945 permits, including 143 new one and two-family dwelling buildings. The five biggest projects of 2016 had a total valuation of over $112 million.
