The Neighborhood Services Department (NSD) and the Champaign Park District hosted the second in a series of block parties that they will co-host this summer. The Garden Hills Block Event was held on June 23, 2016, at Citizens Park – located within the Garden Hills neighborhood. Approximately 150 residents – consisting of mostly youth – attended the block party. The event included interactive DJ music provided by Fireman Phil, face painting, inflatables, and musical performances by youth participating in the CUperstars. Food was provided by NSD and served by volunteers from the United Garden Hills Neighborhood Association.
