Neighborhood Services Coordination staff attended the monthly United Garden Hills Executive Steering Committee meeting on June 6. The Steering Committee heard presentations from the Lift Them Up Program, a pilot youth engagement initiative that will be implemented in the Garden Hills Neighborhood in partnership with Rev. Barnes of the Metanoia Center and the Champaign County Township. Lt. Tod Myers presented information on public safety engagement planning and discussed his proposed strategy to utilize sector leaders to assist in neighborhood public safety strategy implementation. Leaders from the steering committee also discussed the block event and a proposal to change the location.
