Code Compliance Manager David Oliver represented the City of Champaign at the annual Keep Illinois Beautiful (KIB) meeting on Thursday, May 12 in Springfield. The meeting was hosted at the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (ILEPA) headquarters. A new slate of officers for Keep Illinois Beautiful was elected, and each city in attendance shared local activities they have been involved in. Oliver announced the Regional Neighborhood Network Conference (RNNC) was going to be held in Champaign on September 29 through October 1 and was working with Keep America Beautiful on a workshop presentation. ILEPA announced although the state has not adopted a budget, it did appear the ILEPA/KIB Grants would be able to be processed. Each KIB affiliate would have an opportunity to review and revise the grant applications previously submitted and make changes to the funding request. ILEPA would need the updates submitted by June 9 in order to get the grant signed by June 30. Each affiliate would have from July 1, 2016, to June 30, 2017, to administer the grant funds.
