Champaign Public Library Director Search Reopened

The Champaign Public Library Board of Trustees announced today they have reopened their search for a new Library Director.  Applications can be completed on the City of Champaign’s website.  Applications will be accepted through May 15, 2016.

“Though our last recruitment didn’t result in filling this critical position, the process and accompanying input from all who participated helped us further refine the expectations and requirements for our next director,” reports Martin Wolske, president of the Library Board of Trustees.  “Our wonderfully diverse community really loves our libraries and the Board is committed to finding the right person to step in and continue meeting the evolving needs of those we serve.”

The Board of Trustees will continue to be assisted with the recruitment by City of Champaign staff and consultants Bradbury Associates/Gossage Sager Associates.  Input from library and community stakeholders will once again be incorporated into this relaunched search.

Donna Pittman continues to serve as the acting library director.  Pittman assumed that role when former director Marsha Grove retired at the end of January.
