“Point In Time” Homeless Survey Training
Each year, the City of Champaign helps host the “Point In Time” Homeless Survey Training, with the Champaign Police Department serving as survey headquarters during the evening homeless count. On behalf of the local Continuum of Care, Courage Connection identified a team of new leaders that will coordinate the volunteers, press coverage, and supplies for the event. City staff continues to offer support in training the new leadership team and providing historical information. The 2016 count is scheduled for Thursday, January 28. It will include a count of sheltered and unsheltered homeless persons for the purpose of receiving federal homeless funding and documenting the needs in our community.
