In an effort to provide instant access to critical information needed for planning the City’s response to snow and ice and other weather emergencies, Public Works recently completed the finishing touches on their new Control Room. The room is equipped with multiple screens providing live weather information, Automated Vehicle Locator (AVL) status, local news feeds, and (soon) building systems status. The room provides a central decision-making location for Public Works staff and consolidates all available resources to help expedite assignments to staff responding to emergencies.
