The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has awarded a contract to Feutz Excavating of Paris, Illinois, to construct a new section of Olympian Drive from west of Champion Drive to Duncan Road, including the reconstruction of the intersection of Duncan Road and Olympian Drive. The proposed improvement consists of a new PCC pavement, PCC sidewalks, and storm sewers. Olympian Drive through the project limits will be closed to all traffic during construction.
Duncan Road between Interstate 74 and Meridian Drive will be closed to traffic for 60 calendar days beginning early in August to allow for the reconstruction of the Duncan-Olympian intersection. Motorists using Duncan Road are directed to follow the posted detour route around the project.
Construction activities are expected to begin on Monday, June 22, and are scheduled to be completed by late October or early November 2015.
