Champaign Police Make an Arrest in Shooting Investigation

On Thursday, April 30, 2015, at approximately 1:39PM, Champaign Police Investigators arrested Nicholas Clark on charges of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, in connection with the April 27, 2015 shooting in the 800 block of North Prospect Avenue.

On April 27, at approximately 12:46AM, Police responded to the area of 800 N. Prospect after receiving numerous reports of gun shots.  Upon arrival, officers located and identified the victim, who reported being shot at in front of his home.  No personal injuries were sustained, but there was damage to the victim’s residence.  Officers recovered numerous shell casings from the scene.

An eyewitness to the crime identified the shooter as Nicholas Clark, who reportedly fled the scene after the incident.  The victim reported having an argument with Clark earlier that evening.

On Wednesday, April 29, 2015, Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Nicholas Clark for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, and the bond was set in the amount of $750,000.   On Thursday, April 30, CPD Investigators arrested Clark on the arrest warrant  without incident on at the Federal Courthouse in Urbana.
