In celebration of National Library Week (April 12-18), community members are encouraged to “explore your star library” and discover the valuable resources it offers. The Champaign Public Library has been awarded “star library” status by Library Journal since 2008. Its recent four-star designation places it among the top 3% of public libraries nationwide.
The celebration kicks off with a Local Author Festival and appearance by best-selling author Michael Perry on Saturday, April 11. This will be followed by a week full of events for all ages, including a concert by Amasong, Get-Your-Geek-On Trivia Night, and Life-Size Candy Land!
Popular rental books, movies and other items will be FREE on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, April 11–13. Community members who check out items between April 11 and April 18 will be automatically entered into a drawing for an iPad mini 3. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, April 21.
