Narrative: Champaign Fire Department responded to a report of a working fire at 1125 N. Third St. on March 10th, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. Upon arrival, fire crews found light smoke emitting from the first floor of the apartment. Fire crews deployed a single hand line through the main entry of the apartment and were able to quickly extinguish the fire and contain it to the room of origin. No civilian or fire department personnel injuries were reported. Champaign Police Department assisted with traffic control. The Champaign Fire Department reminds residents to never leave cooking unattended.
