CFD would like to remind you of the following safety tips:
- Anytime you are out in cold weather it is important to dress appropriately in layers. Cold temperatures, wind and wet clothes can cause severe hypothermia in just minutes of exposure.
- Never walk on ice that has not been checked by an experienced professional.
- Snow-covered ice can be deceiving. The snow can hide ice that is not thick enough to walk on.
- CFD would like to remind everyone that ice fishing and ice skating is dangerous and not allowed on any of the Champaign Park Districts lakes.
