Keep Champaign Beautiful – Litter Index Survey

As part of the Keep America Beautiful certification process, Keep Champaign Beautiful committee members conducted a Litter Index survey on Friday, October 17, 2014. The survey is designed to provide a baseline which affiliates can use to monitor educational efforts and determine if littering behavior is changing in the community. The Litter Index is an annual requirement for good standing with Keep America Beautiful and will be conducting in approximately the same time each year. The Litter Index requires the community be mapped and divided into comparable areas. The committee members score several pre-selected sites within each area. The individual scores from each member will be averaged to arrive at an overall Litter Index score. The committee plans to share the results with the Neighborhood Services Advisory Board and Champaign City Council.
