On Monday, June 23, 2014, Varsity Striping Company will begin work for the Annual Pavement Marking Contract. This year’s contract will replace long lines (centerlines, lane lines, shoulder lines) on various concrete streets throughout the City. All streets will remain open to traffic with temporary lane closures as needed. The final completion date for this project is November 1, 2014.
The work will completed as a moving operation. Marking material is applied to the pavement through equipment attached to the work trucks driving along the street; the vehicles also have arrow boards and warning lights informing drivers to change lanes and/or slow down.
The City requests drivers pay attention to the ever changing traffic control and drive with care through the work areas. City staff apologizes in advance for any inconvenience this work will cause area businesses, employees and visitors, and appreciates the cooperation of everyone in order to maintain a safe environment.
