During the month of February, the News Gazette ran their annual “Design An Ad” contest. In this contest, the News Gazette works with local schools to involve kids in the design of an ad for a local business. From the ads designed for them, the businesses then select the ads that will run in a special section of the News-Gazette during the month of March. This year, the Public Works Department received several entries for Public Works, Hill Street Parking Deck, and Recycling programs. After reviewing and deliberating among the choices, staff selected three ads designed by local students to run in the “Design an Ad” section.
The three ads selected were:
· Maci Walter, 5th grader at Holy Cross School – General public works ad
· Sophia Liu, 6th grader at Countryside School – Hill Street Parking Deck ad
· Joe Stilger, 7th grader at St. Matthews School – Recycling (Feed the Thing) ad
Staff wish to thank all of the student artists who used their time and creativity to submit a lot of good ideas.
