The cities of Champaign and Urbana, Champaign County Board, Parkland College and the University of Illinois would like to invite you to attend the 13th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Countywide Celebration on Friday, January 17, 2014, 4 p.m. at Hilton Garden Inn, 1501 South Neil Street, Champaign.
This year’s theme is:
“A FUTURE FILLED WITH VAST AND MARVELOUS OPPORTUNITIES”
The Keynote speaker is Cheryl Brown Henderson, one of the three daughters of the late Reverend Oliver L. Brown, who, along with 12 other parents led by the NAACP, filed a lawsuit against the local Board of Education on behalf of their children in the historic case Oliver L. Brown et. al. vs. the Board of Education of Topeka, et. al.
This event is free and open to the public.
