EMERGENCY ORDER
I, Don Gerard, in my capacity as the Liquor Commissioner for the City of Champaign, Illinois, and pursuant to authority granted me in Section 5-91.1 of the Champaign Municipal Code, 1985 as amended, entitled “Emergency powers,” do hereby enter the following emergency order in relation to the event known as Champaign Music Festival, taking place July 20, 2013:
All businesses currently holding a bar or restaurant liquor license (Class A or Class R) permitting that license holder to sell or serve alcoholic beverages for consumption 0n the licensed premises, within the City limits of the City of Champaign in the area starting at Chester Street and Neil Street, north to Church Street, west on Church Street to Randolph, north on Randolph to the alley south of the Hill Street Parking Deck extended, north to Hill Street, south on Neil Street (including the landscaped plaza at Neil and Main) to Main Street, east on Main Street to Market Street, south on Market Street to Chester Street, and west on Chester Street to the point of beginning (see attached map) shall be restricted in the following manner:
l. Possession of alcohol is permitted outside of the licensed establishment in plastic cups only, on closed streets and sidewalks in the area described above from 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2013 until 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2013.
2. Alcohol possession will not be allowed in the City of Champaign parking lots located at 401 N. Neil Street, 47 Main Street or the Hill Street Parking Deck.
