On September 18, 2012, the Neighborhood Services Department conducted a Healthy Neighborhoods Walking Tour highlighting over $16.5 million dollars of investment in affordable housing since 2000 in the Douglass Park Neighborhood. The tour focused on developments such as: Parkside to Oakwood Trace, Mansard Square to Taylor Thomas Subdivision, Burch Village Redevelopment to Douglass Square, Lot Acquisition in Douglas Park for Habitat Homes, Infill Program – Douglass Park Area, and the Neighborhood Stabilization Program. These developments were made possible by partnerships that include: City of Champaign, Housing Authority of Champaign County, United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Illinois Housing Development Agency (IHDA), Busey Bank, The Center for Women in Transition, Homestead Corporation and Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County.
