Champaign continues to prove to be the perfect place to live, work, and play, as the Fire Department’s Building Safety Division reports they processed $238,246,913 in construction permits during 2018. This is the second-highest year since 2008, following only 2014 when approximately $243 million of construction permits were issued. Continued commercial and residential development in Champaign is only possible thanks to the vision and guidance of the City Council and the hard work of all City staff who are dedicated to serving Champaign’s residents and visitors.
