Registration for Fall Residential Electronics Collection Event

The online registration for the next Residential Electronics Collection event for residents living in participating communities in Champaign County will open on Monday, September 10, 2018, at 8:00 a.m.  The link to the online registration system is: http://ecycle.simplybook.me/.  The collection event will take place on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Parkland College, 2400 W. Bradley Ave., Champaign (residents need to use the Duncan Road entrance into Parkland College and then follow the signs).
Only residents who reside in the participating communities can register: Bondville, Broadlands, Champaign, Fisher, Gifford, Homer, Ivesdale, Ludlow, Mahomet, Odgen, Pesotum, Rantoul, Royal, Sadorus, Savoy, Sidney, Thomasboro, Urbana, and unincorporated Champaign County.
Residents can reserve one of the available 15-minute time slots between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.  (Additional time slots will be opened between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., if necessary.)  Immediately upon reserving a time, the resident will receive an email and/or text message confirming their reserved time.  Five to seven days before the event, residents will receive a postcard in the U.S. Mail, which will serve as their “ticket” into the event.
A list of accepted and non-accepted items can be found on the registration website.  There will be a two TV limit per postcard (all types, models, and sizes of TVs, including CRT ‘tube’ TVs, will be accepted, working and non-working) and a 10-item total limit per postcard.  Small items (cords, chargers, mice, etc.) can be bundled or put into a small box and counted as one item.
This event is co-sponsored by City of Champaign, City of Urbana, Champaign County, and Village of Savoy.  The event will go ahead rain or shine.  Severe weather will increase wait times, but the wait is still minimal.  The weather would have to get very severe before it is cancelled.
The online registration will remain open until all the 15-minute time slots are full.  Please feel free to direct any event related questions to Nichole Millage, Environmental Sustainability Specialist, at [email protected] or (217) 403-4780.
