City of Champaign Election Petitions Now Available

Champaign’s municipal elections will be held in early 2019, and residents interested in running for Mayor or an At-Large City Council seat may now pick up or download election petitions.  Petitions for the Office of Mayor and At-Large City Council Members, and other campaign materials are available for residents to pick up from the City Clerk’s Office, 102 N. Neil Street, Champaign, or to download from the City’s website at champaignil.gov/elections.

Completed petitions for nomination of the Office of Mayor and At-Large City Council Members must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office between the dates of November 19-26, 2018.

If necessary, a Consolidated Primary for these positions will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019.   During the General Election on April 2, 2019, one person will be elected to the Office of Mayor, and one for each of the three At-Large City Council positions.
