Residential Fire – 105 Flora Drive

The Champaign Fire Department responded to the report of smoke and flames seen in the home at 105 Flora Drive, Friday, July 27, 2018 at 11:12 p.m.  Upon arrival on the scene, fire crews found smoke coming from the eaves of the home.

A resident discovered smoke beginning to fill the home and called 9-1-1.  Firefighters arrived on the scene and deployed multiple hose lines into the home to quickly extinguish the fire originating from the basement.

The occupant of the home has been displaced because of this fire. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries reported.  The cause of the fire remains undetermined as investigators continue their scene examination.

The Champaign Fire Department reminds all citizens to maintain a working smoke alarm in their place of residence and to have and practice a home escape plan.  Smoke alarms can provide early notification when seconds count.
