City Staff, Human Relations Commissioner Attend DisABILITY Resource Expo

Staff from the Community Relations Office set up a booth at the DisABILITY Resource Expo on Saturday April 7. Community Relations Manager Rachel Joy and Administrative Assistant Ashley Stickels were in attendance. The event was held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Vineyard Church in Urbana. Human Relations Commissioner Alissia Young volunteered at the booth as well.

“The DisABILITY Resource Expo: Reaching Out for Answers” continues to be recognized as a valuable community resource for families and individuals with disabilities. This Expo helped to address questions about where community members go for support and services they – or a love one – may need to live the most independent life possible in Champaign County and East Central Illinois. The Expo was a family friendly event.

As a part of the event, a table-to-table scavenger hunt with the theme “Athlete Games” was coordinated for attendees. The City’s table featured Nichole Millage from Public Works. The DisABILITY Resource Expo is a special project of the Champaign County Mental Health and Champaign County Developmental Disabilities Boards.
