CHESTER STREET CONSTRUCTION WORK TO AFFECT TRAFFIC
(BETWEEN WALNUT ST. AND NEIL ST.)
On Thursday, November 2, 2017, beginning at 8:30a.m., PEMCO Service Company will be replacing the monitoring well lid for an underground storage tank in the 10-east block of Chester Street, near the City Building. To complete this work, PEMCO will saw cut into the pavement and replace the lid. Public Works staff will backfill the excavated site before reopening the road fully. Traffic will be shifted around the excavation site, towards the parking meters on the northwest corner of Chester St., near Neil. St.
This construction work is weather dependent. The City of Champaign encourages caution when travelling near an active construction site.
