Residential Fire – 1303 Carver Drive

The Champaign Fire Department responded to a working fire at 1303 Carver Drive, Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 9:12 p.m. Upon arrival on the scene, fire crews found moderate smoke coming from the garage of a vacant single-family home.  Suppression efforts began immediately.

A passerby noticed smoke coming from the residence and called 911.  Once on scene, firefighters deployed hose lines inside the home and quickly extinguished the fire that was contained in the attached garage.  There were no firefighter or civilian injuries reported.

The cause remains undetermined as investigators continue to interview those that have recently been in the residence.  The damage estimate is $10,500 to the structure and $1,500 for the home’s contents.
