Police Investigate Pedestrian and Motor Vehicle Accident

Last night, at approximately 8:28 PM, Champaign Police Officers responded near the intersection of W. Bradley and N. Willis Ave. in Champaign after receiving a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers identified that a pedestrian had been struck while walking across the street.  The victim, a 67-year-old male from Champaign, was transported to an area hospital, where he would succumb to his injuries.

The investigation revealed that the victim was crossing the street near W. Bradley and N. Willis Ave. when he was struck by a vehicle heading Westbound on Bradley.  The driver of the vehicle has been fully cooperative with police, and initial investigations revealed no apparent signs of driver impairment or distraction.
