Police Seek the Public’s Help to Identify Bank Robbery Suspect 

Today at approximately 3:12PM, Champaign Police Officers responded to Regions Bank, located at 111 S. State Street for a reported bank robbery.

According to bank staff, the suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money.  An undetermined amount of currency was given to the suspect before he fled on foot in an eastbound direction.  A weapon was implied but not displayed, and no injuries were reported.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Champaign Police Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect who was described by bank staff as a:

  • Thin, White male in his early 30’s
  • Approximately 5’5”  in height
  • Approximately 180 pounds
  • Wearing blue jeans and a white shirt with a graphic design on the front

Police asks that anyone with information regarding this incident, or the identity of the suspect, to contact the Champaign Police Investigations Division at 217-403-6900.

Champaign Police reminds citizens that information submitted to Crime Stoppers is completely anonymous.  Calls are routed to a third-party national call center that receives your information, completes a tips information form, and then passes the information to the appropriate law enforcement agency. Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for this crime.
