Staff from the Neighborhood Services Department (NSD) were invited to speak to a regular monthly meeting of the Champaign County Association of Realtors (CCAR) and their Young Professionals Network on Sunday, August 24. NSD Staff, in coordination with the City of Urbana, presented on Homebuyer Programs, Homeowner Programs, Enterprise Zones, and the Homeowner Maintenance Workshop. Additionally, this event served to help the City launch the new HOME Funded down payment assistance program available to persons buying a home in Champaign, Urbana, or unincorporated parts of Champaign County. Presentations focused on the different ways Realtors might interact with NSD staff, such as referring a client, making a code complaint, or obtaining information on Home Owners Associations or Neighborhood Groups. The presentation was attended by approximately 25 Realtors and was very well received.
