On August 3, 2017 at approximately 8:10 PM, Champaign Police Officers responded to the area of Elm St. & Beardsley St. after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police located a 53-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
Champaign Police Detectives are currently investigating this incident. Information concerning this incident is being developed, and police are processing the scene and interviewing potential witnesses.
