The Neighborhood Services Department (NSD) Coordination Division organized and facilitated a community discussion at Parkland College on June 7, 2017,regarding the detention basin issue impacting the Timberline Valley South subdivision. Approximately 75 neighborhood residents and community stakeholders attended the meeting to hear from staff representatives regarding their background research on the issue. Staff representatives from Public Works, Planning, Legal, Police, and Neighborhood Services provided presentations concerning the operation, maintenance, and sustainability of the detention basins. Residents requested a follow-up meeting with County staff to discuss the issue prior to deciding on their next course of action. Over the next several months staff from the NSD-Coordination Division will continue to work with residents to develop consensus on a long term solution to address the issue.
