Police Investigate Shooting – 500 Block of E. Eureka

This evening at approximately 6:14 PM, Champaign Police Officers responded to the 500 Block of E. Eureka St., after receiving multiple reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, Police located a 24-year-old male victim suffering from several gunshot wounds.  The victim was immediately transported to an area-hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.

Information concerning this incident is being developed and police are interviewing potential witnesses.  Anyone who has information regarding the shooting is urged to contact the Champaign Police Investigations Division at 217-351-4545.
