City of Champaign to Celebrate Public Service Recognition Week May 7-13

The City of Champaign will proudly celebrate Public Service Recognition Week May 7-13 in several exciting ways.  A national event, Public Service Recognition Week honors the men and women who serve our country at the local, county, state, and federal level. The City will use this opportunity to honor our employees for their hard work and dedication, to promote team building, and to celebrate the rewarding aspects of a career in public service.

“Our residents are fortunate to be served by a caring, professional, and committed team of City employees,” said Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen.  “They ensure the public’s safety, build and maintain our roads, promote neighborhood wellness, and responsibly manage the public resources needed to operate our wonderful city.  I hope the community will join me in thanking City staff for their hard work and dedication during Public Service Recognition Week.”

Several team building activities are planned for the week, including a voluntary community service project where City staff and their families will work together and give back to the Champaign community.
