The Neighborhood Programs Division brought Travis Remmert, founder of OneRoof systems, onsite for daylong training on December 15.The City’s IT Department was instrumental in providing access to learning laptops in the lower level of the City Building for this event. Champaign is one of the original member cities to use this community development software, and now has new staff using the software. Neighborhood Programs also extended an invitation to Champaign County, City of Urbana, and City of Danville to participate in the training. The City of Danville – which also uses the system – attended the session. They previously hosted Champaign staff to see how the software is used in the field, which is a goal for Neighborhood Programs staff. Staff is now using the tools from the training session to prepare documents that can be used for monthly and annual performance reporting.
