New Speed Limits on Kirby and Bradley Overpasses
Two new Traffic Control Orders were recently approved by the City Manager and will soon be implemented. The first order will reduce the posted speed limit along Kirby Avenue, between Staley Road and Duncan Road, to 35 mph. A similar change will be made along Bradley Avenue, between Staley Road and Mattis Avenue. These changes will make the speed limits at these locations, which each includes an I-57 overpass, consistent with the speed limit on the Windsor Road overpass. This is the first step to improving pedestrian and bicycle safety on two heavily traveled routes.
