Champaign Police Seek Identified Suspect in Shooting Incident

On October 29, 2016 at approximately 11:44 PM, Champaign Police responded to 701 N. Neil St. in Champaign for a report of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located evidence of gunfire, and determined that no one had been injured. Throughout this investigation, Detectives have reviewed various pieces of information and evidence, resulting in the identification of suspect, 26-year-old Kevin B. Cooper Jr., of Champaign.

On November 9, 2016, an arrest warrant was issued for Cooper for the offense of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm. Bond on the warrant is set at $250,000.

 

Champaign Police Detectives ask that anyone with information relating to this incident, or the whereabouts of Kevin Cooper, to contact the Champaign Police Department Investigations Division at 217-351-4545.
