Champaign Police Detectives seek the public’s help in locating a suspect associated with four recent robberies in the Champaign area.
Dane M. Williams of Champaign, pictured below, is a suspect in four commercial robberies within the last 24-hours. In all of the incidents, Williams grabbed or attempted to grab money out of the businesses’ cash register before fleeing from the location. Williams is suspected in the following incidents:
- September 14, 8:45 AM, Discount Smoke Shop located at 800 W. Bloomington Rd.
- September 14, 11:21 AM, Family Dollar located at 1204 N. Market St.
- September 14, 5:13 PM, Joe’s Liquors located at 1807 W. Bradley Ave.
- September 15, 2:21 AM, Circle K located at 1511 N. Prospect Ave.
On August 31, 2016, Williams pled guilty to a prior burglary offense and was scheduled to report to the Department of Corrections on September 19 to serve a 7-year sentence.
Williams is described as a 40-year-old Black male, 6’1” and approximately 230 pounds. Champaign Police asks that anyone with information related to any of these incidents or the whereabouts of Dane M.
