Arrest Made in Bank Robbery Investigation

On August 30, 2016 at approximately 12:22 PM, Champaign Police responded to Central Illinois Bank, located at 302 W. Springfield Ave. for a reported bank robbery. Upon arrival, Police determined that the suspect, later identified as 40-year-old Carlos K. Davis, had entered the bank, inferred he had a weapon and demanded money.  The suspect then fled with an undetermined amount of currency.

On September 5, Champaign Police Detectives spotted Davis in traffic and maintained surveillance on his vehicle until they were able to make a secure stop.  At approximately 2:25 PM, Davis was arrested without incident near the intersection of Haines and Prospect Ave. and was transported to the Champaign County Correctional Center for the charge of Aggravated Robbery.  Bond was set at $100,000.
