Vacant Nuisance Residential Building (VNRB) Case Resolved

A vacant fire damaged house located at 804 Sherwood Terrace was demolished by the owner after the owner was required to register the house as a vacant nuisance residential building.  The demolition permit was issued on September 25, 2015 and the demolition passed final inspection on August 8, 2016. The demolition of the property took much longer than normal for a house of this size. There was a large amount of material stored in the property and the owner tried to salvage as much as possible slowing the demolition process.  The demolition contractor also contributed to the delays in finishing the demolition. Neighborhood Code Compliance Division staff contacted the owner and contractor several times throughout the demolition process to encourage them to complete the demolition of the structures.
