Meet the Champaign Public Library Director Finalists on July 7

The Library Board of Trustees reminds the public of their opportunity to meet the candidates for the Library Director position at a special event on July 7, 2016. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in the Champaign City Building (102 N Neil St., Champaign). The community is invited to attend in person, watch the event live on Champaign Government Television (CGTV), or view the online video stream at ci.champaign.il.us/live.

The public can submit potential questions for the finalists by emailing them in advance to [email protected]. The public is also encouraged to send their comments and feedback about the finalists to the Library Board of Trustees immediately following the event.

“This is a great opportunity for our community to learn more about each candidate’s qualifications and visions for exploring new opportunities for our four-star library,” reports Board President Martin Wolske. “The Board looks forward to engaging in further discussions with each finalist this week, learning about the public’s impressions of each candidate, and moving forward on selecting our next Library Director.”

The finalists for the Library Director position are Cynthia Fesemyer (Director, Columbus Public Library, Columbus, WI) and Donna Pittman (Interim Director and Development Director, Champaign Public Library, Champaign, IL).

In addition to this public event, the finalists will partake in interviews, meet with various stakeholder groups, and tour the community on July 7 and 8.
