Champaign Police Investigate Shooting at N. McKinley Ave and Francis Drive

This evening, at approximately 8:08 PM, Champaign Police responded to the corner of North McKinley Ave and Francis Drive in Champaign for multiple reports of shots fired.  Upon arrival, officers located a female victim who sustained serious injuries and was transferred to an area hospital. It is unclear at this time if the woman was an intended target.

 

Information concerning this incident is being developed and Champaign Police Detectives are currently processing the scene and interviewing witnesses. Anyone who may have been in this area at the time of the shooting or anyone with information related to the shooting is encouraged to contact the Champaign Police Department Investigations Division at 217-351-4545 or Crime Stoppers at 217-373-8477.
