Neighborhood Services Department staff attended the University of Illinois’ College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) visit day with 60 high school students who participate in the Operation HOPE program at Central and Centennial High Schools. The visit included a tour of campus, meetings with admissions and career programming deans in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and an informational vendor fair. The vendor fair included representatives from different college majors, Parkland College’s Pathway Program, cultural houses, academic advising, and admissions. The students ended the day with a Q&A lunch in one of the residential dining halls with current students.
